I just want to let  you know that I discovered your butter at the Mountain People's Co-op in Morgantown, WV and haven't bought butter at the grocery store since.  Yours is SO much better, it's like the difference between butter and margarine (ICK!).  When I put it in my hot cast iron skillet, it melts without burning.  The flavor is fresh, with no hint of the decay that I now taste in store butter and didn't even notice.  I wish I lived closer so we could get your milk and ice cream, as well! We love Hartzler's! You're a true blessing. My husband had a terrible time with congestion especially at night. We tracked it down to ultra-pasteurized milk. I used to drive an extra 80 miles to get it..true too.. used to drive to the Raisin Rack in Westerville.. 40 miles from here each way and 80 miles round trip. Now Giant Eagle has it so its only 14 miles round trip to get it. WE ALL MUST SUPPORT THE FAMILY FARM! AND SMALL BUSINESS! which is why I was driving so far and would continue to do so if I have to.

It is true we are truly blessed to have access to your products right here in our own back yard. My daughter Cameryn is another story of success when it comes to Hartzler's products. She is six years old and has suffered from severe dairy intolerance since she was an infant. She also has Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and calcium intake is very important for her. We noticed about 2 years ago that when we came to Hartzler's for ice cream she would actually ask for her own and finish it all, she also accidentally had some chocolate milk we were prepared to pay dearly for when the stomach pain set in but surprisingly nothing! She can happily consume your milk and ice cream with no ill effects to her system.  She is your six year old walking billboard always telling everyone to come to Hartzler's cause they have the best ice cream and milk! Thank you for producing such quality products that allow my girl to experience a "normal" childhood! You are our only summer stop when ice cream is in order!

Your eggnog has the most incredible taste.  When drinking it I'd swear it came directly from the cow that way!  It has a freshness I have never found in any other brand of eggnog – ask my family, every year I buy a few brands in an attempt to find a favorite.  I like it thicker like custard eggnog.

This year I also tried Trader Joe's eggnog and though it was not as thick it had a pleasing taste so I bought a few cartons.  Every other carton was not as good as the first, some had a stronger spice blend some weaker.

Your eggnog was perfect in every bottle.  I will look forward to October for the rest of my life and will never purchase any other brand – I found my ultimate eggnog and it's Hartzler's!

I will be making extra room in my fridge early on so next November so I have some egg nog left for New Years next time around.  Guess lots of folks found out how fantastic it tastes this past time, I was glad I rationed what I purchased for Christmas so when my parents visited for New Year's weekend we were able to treat them to the best.

I just have to say, you stand for everything I look for when it comes to milk and the environment. Low temperature pasteurization, not homogenized, and you reuse (not recycle!) glass bottles. Your milk is the only milk I will drink!

I just tried your whole milk and loved that "the cream rises to the top! It immediately reminded me of when I was a child, and my grandmother's milk deliveryman would arrive with milk in glass bottles with a paper stopper. It was delicious, and yours is just like the milk I remember. :)

Lately I've been getting the creeps thinking about all of the things that are added to milk or given to the cows. Factory farming is endangering humans, I think. You are doing the right thing.

I also wanted to let you know what I do with your eggnog at Christmas time.

I have a KitchenAid mixer, and have the ice cream-maker bowl attachment. I simply pour in your eggnog "as is" and make ice cream out of it! After all, the basic ingredients for ice cream are the same as the ingredients for eggnog, really. The eggnog makes a delicious ice cream just by itself, because it's so thick, and you can add mix-ins, such as chocolate chips.

I’ve known about Hartzler Dairy milk since my daughter was just one year old. She didn’t drink cow’s milk very readily, and she didn’t sleep through the night. My brother had told that when his son was the same age and also not drinking milk or sleeping all night, they started giving him Hartzler Dairy milk, and overnight, he was a new kid. He loved the milk and slept much better and seemed to even be less fussy overall (in hindsight, it was probably because non-homogenized milk is more easily digested). My brother’s testimonial was convincing, but Hartzler Dairy milk wasn’t available in my grocery store at the time, so I rarely had the chance to make a special trip to get it. A few years passed, and during that time, my sister and her “milk-loving” husband became hooked on Hartzler Dairy milk because of its superior taste, but Hartzler Dairy milk was still very difficult for me to get because it wasn’t at my grocery store. I continued to ask my grocery store to carry it, but in the meantime, I bought standard “organic” milk and continued to research the many benefits of non-homogenized, slow-pasteurized dairy products. So, when I saw Hartzler Dairy bottles in our organic dairy case a few weeks ago, I practically started jumping up and down in the aisle.

I brought home the Hartzler Dairy milk, not knowing what response I would get from my two daughters (who both adamantly refused to drink plain milk, and would only drink “vanilla” milk instead). When my 4-year old tried it for the first time (after gulping down the entire glassful), she said, “Mmmmm. Mommy, can I please have more of that yummy milk???” I hadn’t even told her that it was a different kind of milk. She noticed that Hartzler Dairy milk tasted better on her very own!

Since then, she has continued to ask for the “yummy” milk, even saying, “don’t add any vanilla to it. I just want the yummy milk plain. You can only add vanilla to milk that comes out of the cartons.” My 2-year old has also been drinking the Hartzler Dairy milk with enthusiasm. I haven’t put vanilla in their milk since I switched to Hartzler Dairy milk, and to this day, my older daughter still refers to Hartzler Dairy milk as the “yummy milk.”

I will be making my own yogurt and ice cream with the Hartzler Dairy milk, as well.

Who knew that I could be so excited about something as simple as milk?

So I decided about a month ago to purchase your white milk while I was shopping at Heinen’s Rocky River. It has a creamy taste…just what it looks like. My oldest son is 12 and he has never been able to drink cows milk.  We started raising dairy goats 11 years ago so that he could have milk.  One winter we did not have sufficient milk saved  so we tried Hartzer's milk.  And he had no problem with it. I recently stumbled upon your milk at our Nemenz IGA in Struthers Ohio when I was going out to get a few necessities.  The glass bottle caught my eyes, thought they were some plastic bottle marketing ploy until I tapped it with my finger.  I was immediately transported back 45 years when I saw the cream line, thought I was hallucinating!!!!!!!  I then read your labeling and still could not believe what I was seeing.  I can still remember the milk delivered on the porch and actually having to shake the bottle.  The cold temperatures provided a welcome frozen treat.  The cost is a bit more but well worth it and the return deposit is great for the environment!!!  There is absolutely positively NO COMPARISON to that mundane white stuff in those polypropylene bottles, the sound of that word in conjunction with ‘Milk’ makes one shudder.  The taste of your milk is like nothing I’ve had in 45 years, I’m actually sitting here looking at, as well as drinking a glass of your liquid gold as I’m typing this.  You have gained a new loyal customer, GOD BLESS YOU ALL AND THANKS FOR THE LONG AWAITED TREAT!!!!!!!!

I am writing to tell you how much we love drinking your milk.  We recently moved to Brecksville, OH, Where we do our grocery shopping at a Heinen’s store.  When I saw your glass containers of milk, I decided to guy some.  We are hooked!  We So appreciate all of the great environmental impacts your milk has on this community:  healthy cows, locally raised milk, not homogenized, reusable containers…we are committed to buying Hartzler milk (and roll butter).  Thank you so much for your dedication to this community.

It's been a year now since my wife first discovered your cream-top milk and roll butter at Williams IGA in Vienna, Ohio. I'm retired and will be 67 in May, and can't begin to count the times I've told the story about "the good old days" when fresh, whole milk was delivered to our porch by the milkman; and, how in the winter, it would sometimes freeze and push the cardboard cap off the glass bottle creating a "creamsicle" that my mother would let me enjoy. I can remember when the milkman had a horse drawn wagon, and my mother would give me two pieces of the lump sugar she used in her coffee to give his horse.

After home delivery was discontinued, we bought our milk, butter, ice cream, and other items at the neighborhood store two and a half blocks from home. While attending high school, I worked after school and during the summer I worked as a roofer's helper, and would stop by the nearest store by the job site and buy a quart to wash the slate dust taste out of my mouth.

I've bored friends, family, and grandkids for years with the stories of "skyscraper" ice cream cones, Klondikes, milk, buttermilk, milkshakes, butter, chip-chopped ham, and all the good things I was able to enjoy "back when I was a kid." I've missed the traditional dairy products now that the dairy I use to buy from is gone.

My wife spotted the Hartzler Dairy glass, cream-top milk bottle and couldn't wait to bring it home for me. We have become exclusive and avid consumers of your product - no other milk or butter will do (and we recommend it to everyone!). We are so glad to be able to enjoy your milk and butter!

We visited Cleveland yesterday and stopped at Whole Foods, then happened to find your milk.  We purchased whole milk to see how "Authentic" your milk was. 

Oh my gosh!!  It was exactly as same as I used to drink in JAPAN.  Like you mentioned on a website, we used to have milk delivered at the door from the neighbor's farm and it tasted just like that.  I am glad  that I could tell my children how milk supposed to taste like.

Last week I tried your milk for the first time.  I purchased it from Whole foods in Dublin, Ohio.  I bought the Chocolate milk and it was wonderful.  My 4 year old daughter laid claims to it and when she saw some was missing she said "Who has been drinking all my milk?"  We were in trouble.  This weekend we came to Mt. Eaton to camp and I started searching out the milk because the label said Wooster on it.  Well we found the store and had ice cream.  We all loved the ice cream.  My girls both got the "Trip to the Dentist" which was later described by my 4 year old as "it was yummier than all the rest".  We also had to get more chocolate milk.  Just thought I would drop you line and tell you we really enjoyed your products.

You have the best milk I have tasted since I was a little girl (I am 60 years old)!

Not long ago I purchased our first bottle of Hartzler Fat Free Milk at Whole Foods in Dublin.  I was attracted by the glass bottle.  Glass keeps the milk so much colder than cartons. 

The next time I accidentally bought your whole milk, instead of low fat.  Oh my gosh, it tastes so delicious!  It reminds me of the milk we had in elementary school (again, in little glass bottles).  I have to keep myself from drinking too much of it!  I have also been telling other people about it.

I also bought the chocolate milk -- too good!  (We like the fat free milk, too, although I may have become addicted to your whole milk.)

Then I read the recent edition of RFD News that had the story of your farm.  For me, that information made your milk even better.  Thank you so much for farming the way that you do and for providing such a great food product.  Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Your website is great, too. I enjoyed reading about Mr. Hartzler.

We recently moved to Ostrander from Columbus, but we might have to drive up to Wooster this spring to have some ice cream.

Since the government over-regulated and destroyed the small dairy farmer that once surrounded us here in the country in Ostrander, you are the only reasonably convenient source for milk done right that isn't ultra pasteurized. For the last month, my daughter's 2nd grade class has been studying good nutrition.  Apparently, with Ohio's obesity epidemic, schools are making a concerted effort to teach children about good eating habits.

Recently, my daughter was wondering why we drink your milk as opposed to another dairy's. As I was explaining the reasons why drinking milk from local, grass-fed, non-antibiotic treated cows was preferable, it dawned on me that her class could benefit from knowing more about your dairy.  Her teacher agreed and in a few weeks, I plan on giving the students a mini talk about organic foods and letting them sample your milk.  I can't wait to see their reaction when they try your milk --- my daughters' friends always love it and ask where their mom's can buy it.

I know my family is hooked on your chocolate milk. It's delicious.

I am just writing to tell you how much I enjoyed tasting your milk today.  Normally, I'm not one to write to let someone know how much I love their product, but this milk blew me away.  I have only had normal grocery store milk up until today, because I didn't think there was a difference.  I had heard about "natural" milk (on NPR radio I think) and decided to try some today.  The Whole Foods in Dublin, OH had your products and I picked up a bottle of 2%.  Man was I surprised!  The taste and texture is so delicious and unique that I will probably not buy big chain milk again. 

I think if more people just had a chance to taste the milk that you produce, they would also be amazed at what they have been missing out on their whole lives.  Keep up the great work, and I look forward to spreading the word about your milk to my friends.

My husband introduced me to Hartzler Dairy when we visited the Wayne County Fair early in our "courtship"....it only took one cone to win me over!  And yes, I kept him too....

We visit the shoppe regularly, but also purchase your milk at local stores near us (Riverbank Market, Buehler's).  We've been happily surprised to find Hartlzer milk on recent visits to the West Side Market in Cleveland, and at the Village Bakery in Athens, Ohio.    We absolutely love the milk.  It tastes unlike anything I've had before, and I can't make myself try anything else at this point.  The glass bottles keep the milk SO cold, and the taste is amazing. 

We wish you happy cows, plentiful crops and all of the sunshine you need to keep your dairy healthy and productive!  You've got at least two dedicated fans!  Keep up the good work!

Just had your chocolate milk and Heifer Trail ice cream at WCRF where I'm a volunteer for SHARE 2010.  This is the first year I've been able to have some because it's usually gone by the time I get there.  The chocolate milk is fabulous (I'll never buy any other brand again), and fortunately the ice cream was way better than its name.
